Living in Karns

What It Is Like to Live in Karns

Karns sits west of Knoxville between Hardin Valley and Powell, and it has quietly been one of the better values in the county. You get genuine West Knox access without Farragut or Hardin Valley pricing.

The area has its own school community and a real crossroads identity around Oak Ridge Highway. It is less polished than Farragut and less new than Hardin Valley, which is exactly why the numbers work.

Housing runs from 1970s and 1980s ranches to newer subdivision construction, with acreage available on the outer edges toward Ball Camp and Solway.

Commute and access

Pellissippi Parkway puts Oak Ridge within about 15 minutes and downtown Knoxville around 20. Oak Ridge Highway is the local east-west artery. Access to both I-40/75 and Pellissippi is better than the price point would suggest.
